Thomas Gunn Miniatures: Allied Wings of War

To complement the releases of the German WOW featured in the previous post, here are two Allied WOW due for release at the same time. Bombs away!

Dear All

I am pleased to announce the release of an iconic Allied  bomber from WW1,
the RE8 Harry Tate! Over 4000 RE8's saw service in WW1 and were involved in
just about every theatre including France, Palestine and Russia.

Designed as a replacement for the vulnerable BE2 bomber some novice pilots
described the RE8 as lethal, but in the hands of an experienced pilot the
RE8 proved to be a very satisfactory bomber for the time.

Eduard Ritter Von Dostler the German fighter ace was downed by an RE8 from 7
Sqn RFC and 3 Sqn Australian flying Corps claimed 50 victories in a 12 month
period whilst operating the RE8.

With a wingspan of 42 ft and 7 inches this was quite a large aircraft for
its time and even in 1/30 scale this is an impressive size model.

Our first aircraft is an RAF bomber from 34 Sqn which was piloted by Lt
Osborn and Sgt Lewis. Comes with free figure,  GW025B comprising a British
soldier in tropical gear standing guard with his dog.

Our Second aircraft is from 3 Sqn Australian Flying Corps which was piloted
by N love and M Shelley who acted as the observer. GW025C Australian Guard
figure is supplied free also with this aircraft and will only enhance your
aircraft display even more.

Our 1/30 scale aircraft are built in wood with over 60 hours of work going
into each one, each aircraft comes with full interior seats, joy stick and
dashboard. Strictly limited to 8 pieces each version worldwide, both
aircraft are priced at $450 each.

We will be posting details on our website soon but if you would like to
pre-order an aircraft please email me at welcome@tomgunn at your earliest
convenience.

Thomas Gunn Miniatures: German Wings of War

TGM have announced the release of two more warbirds, one from The Great War and the other from WW2. Read on and enjoy the pictures

Dear All
TGM is pleased to announce 2 more iconic aircraft that have recently joined
our thoroughbred stables, please read below for exciting news!

The Halberstadt was one of the most successful German aircraft of WW1, being
extremely manoeuvrable with a good rate of climb and a high rate of speed.
The Halberstadt was armed with a forward firing machine gun and a rear
firing MG on a ring mount, the rear gun was sometimes fitted with a
telescopic site.

Bombs and grenades were often carried by the crew.
Approximately 900 were built and the aircraft saw service from 1917 until
the end of the war.
Our first version of the Halberstadt is from Royal Prussian Schlasta 21 as
it would have appeared in October 1918. Priced at $499, our Halberstadt also
includes GW012B Sentry figure free with this model.
Last but not least, a big thank you to Al Coleman who helped us out with the
research for the above model!

ME262 with Air to Air Rockets!

Our latest ME262 was flown by Rudolf Sinner, an ace who scored a total of 39
victories during his wartime career. Thirty of Sinners victories were scored
on the Mediterranean front, three victories on the Russian front and the
last six being on the Western front.

Sinners last aircraft was the ME262 and it was in this aircraft he scored
his last three victories.

The ME262 was one of several aircraft fitted with the W.Gr.21 an
experimental air to air rocket, based on the Nelbelwerfer rocket design.
These air to air rockets were designed to take on the USAAF's big bombers
which were decimating German industry and cities.

Sinner was known to have flown his ME 262 with the above rockets, although
whether he scored any aerial victories using them is unknown.

LUFT 13 mechanic with ladder is included free with our model, which is
priced at $599. This ME 262 is a truly beautiful looking aircraft and we
have made several improvements since our first Kurt Welter ME 262. Two more
ME 262's are planned for next year please note.

As with all our wooden aircraft they are a labour of love with over 60 hours
of work going into each one. Each aircraft comes with a full interior and
will truly be a unique piece in your collection.

We have only made 8 of the Halberstadt and 10 of the ME 262 so please email
welcome@tomgunn at your earliest convenience to reserve early in order to
avoid disappointment.

Best Wishes Vicki Lucas

King and Country: Surprise, Surprise!

Well, it's that time of year isn't it? Or it very soon will be. If like me you tend to have a rather romanticised view of the festive season and find yourself fantasising about all the very best bits of Victorian England, then you're almost sure to find something to like about the latest offerings from Andy and the team who have just announced the 'early' availability of a new range inspired by the writings of Charles Dickens, including, as you might expect, a handful of characters from that most famous of Yuletide yarns, "A Christmas Carol". Enjoy!

Hi Guys,
Here’s an update on some new releases that are arriving a wee bit earlier than expected...

“THE WORLD OF DICKENS”

The first figures and buildings of this whole new version of an old favorite are going to be available in less than 2 weeks time!
        They are as follows...

WoD001          “Bill Sikes”
The real “Villain of the Piece” in “Oliver Twist” and memorably portrayed by the late Oliver Reed in the 1968 Oscar winning musical “Oliver!”

WoD002          “Fagin”
Another villain, if ever there was one, although to be honest (not that he was) definitely not as bad or as cruel as Bill Sikes. He ran a “den of thieves” where, for a time, young Oliver found refuge...Thanks to...

WoD003          “Dodger”
Or to be more precise...The Artful Dodger”...Fagin’s young apprentice and destined, from an early age, to be a thief himself. Although he was always kind to Oliver.

WoD004          “Mr. Bumble”
The Beadle, a kind of community policeman and yet one more memorable character from “Oliver Twist”. In films, plays and television he is usually portrayed as a bumptious, officious kind of fellow.

WoD010          “The Postman”
In Dickens time a regular postal service had just been established in London and several other major British cities. Here, our hero delivers a cheery greeting...and a letter.

WoD011          “Jack & Sarah”
An older brother looks after his younger sister...and her favorite “dolly”.

WoD015          “Ye Old King’s Head”
An updated and upgraded version of part of our original “Dickens Street Façade”. This time we have combined the traditional, timber-framed old English Ale House with a “Tailors Shop” on the ground floor and living quarters above.

WoD016          “The Toy Shop”
Another revised and upgraded single shop/house façade from the original “Dickens Street”. This time “KING & COUNTRY TOYS” occupies the street-level shop with a very nice “bijou” residence on the upper floors.

WoD017          “Christmas Lamp Post”
Every street needs a little light and this particular gas lantern is decorated with a gaily-coloured “Christmas Wreath”...Perfect for your Yuletide display

WoD020          “The Post Box”
With the arrival of a Postal Service you must have a Post Box to post your letters in...A typical mid Victorian piece of “Street Furniture” in cheery bright red and bearing Queen Victoria’s own Royal Cypher...VR...Victoria Regina.

WoD021          “Lamp Post”
A plain and simple version of WoD017.

AVAILABILITY: 3rd-4th Week of November

WoD005          “Bob Cratchit & Tiny Tim”
Father and son from Dickens’ immortal “A Christmas Carol

WoD007          “Miss Lucy”
A fine young Victorian lady from a very good family...or so I am told.

WoD008          “Mrs. Brown”
Warmly-wrapped up to face the rigors of a very chilly English winter

WoD009          “Miss Greene”
A pretty young lass and popular too!

WoD012          “George The Grocer”
George goes about his duties delivering two overflowing baskets of groceries to his local customers.

WoD013          “Mr. Chuckster”
This pleasant looking gent can be found in the pages of “The Old Curiosity Shop”.

WoD014          “Dick Swiveller”
A good-hearted fellow and a lawyer’s clerk who “sometimes found time hanging heavily on his hands.” Happy enough here though and usually with a friendly greeting to one and all.

WoD018          “The Winter Fountain”
A very useful and handsome piece of snow-frosted “Street Furniture”...Looks especially good connecting two of our buildings at right angles. This winter version also has 3 little “Robin Redbreasts” sitting on the lip of the fountain.

AVAILABLE:     Mid December...just in time for Christmas!

"God bless us. Everyone."

First Legion: Latest Releases

All the latest releases from this truly premier league maker, together with one or two additional bits of eye candy thrown in for good measure. Enjoy, as ever!

First Legion

New Releases Expected November 2014!
Roman Praetorian Guard Fighting

We are pleased to present the second release covering the Imperial Roman Praetorian Guard! While the first release portrayed the Praetorians marching, this time we've portrayed them heavily engaged in combat protecting the Emperor Marcus Aurelius. The Roman Praetorian Guard was the personal bodyguard of the Roman Emperors. In addition to their political role of being the strongest armed military force within Rome, they took part in various campaigns and battles including those of Marcus Aurelius as they were at least the equal of any other Roman Legion in terms of combat effectiveness. Presented here in striking combat poses, these figures are designed to be fully engaged with our enemies of Rome. With their imperial purple colors, black leather lorica segmentata, and photo etched steel pilum and gladius, this release is certainly the most striking Roman release we've done for our incredibly popular Glory of Rome figure range.

Woodland Indians

While part of our American Revolution product range, these figures are of course perfectly useful for a much wider time period including but not limited to the French & Indian War. They can represent such tribes as the Iroquois speaking Cayuga, Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Seneca, and Huron or Algonquian speaking Abenaki, Chippewa, Delaware, or Mohicans. The Eastern Indians were the first to make contact with European settlers and had both periods of peace and trade as well as periods of conflict with various tribes and with European settlers and armies siding with one side or the other, thus allowing these figures to be used as allies to either side or even fighting each other. From a design perspective, our Woodland Indians have provided us a wonderful opportunity to produce very colorful and ornate figures that really highlight our strengths as a figure company. Simply put, these are the finest figures available today and we will continue to expand upon this sub-range to include both additional fighting and non-combat/tribal life scenes over the years to come.
