New Releases for July!
WWII German

• FJ020A -- Anniversary Set - Fallshirmjager Team Manning an MG42 - Normandy - Reminiscent of our very first set released 6 years ago but this time with better sculpting and painting! A two figure Fallshirmjager team man an MG42 in distinctive camouflaged Jump smocks and prepare to take on the enemy. Limited to 100 in the Normandy version, 50 of the Winter and also 50 of the Desert version being available.

• LUFT019A -- Erich 'Bubi' Hartmann playing cards with Theodor Weissenberger - Two of the greatest aces of WW2 with over 550 victories between the pair. A little history below for those of you not familiar with these 2 pilots: Hartmann (in the brown jacket) completed his fighter training in January 1942 and managed to rack up an amazing 352 kills, his last kill being a Soviet fighter on the 8th May, the very last day of the European war.
  Earlier as the war drew to a close Hartmann was ordered to fly to the West to avoid capture by the Soviets, but refused as he had a deep attachment for his ground crew. This was despite him being newly married with a young son waiting for him at home. Hartmann was handed over by the Americans to the Russians, who convicted Hartmann on trumped up war crimes. He was sentenced to 25 years in a Soviet Labour camp and suffered appalling treatment. Eventually the Russians tried to encourage Hartmann to join the fledgling East German Air force, but he refused and was eventually released in 1955. Hartmann joined the West German Air force but left in 1970 due to his concerns over the Lockheed Starfighter programme.
  Hartmann died peacefully in his sleep aged 71 in 1993 and is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest fighter pilots of all time.
  Our second figure Theodor Weissenberger was a Knights Cross recipient with over 200 aerial victories mainly flying on the Eastern Front but with over 30 victories on the Western Front, including 3 flying Fortresses in one day over Berlin. Weissneberger flew a variety of aircraft including the ME 262 in which he claimed 8 of his victories.
  After the war Weissenberger went onto become a racing car driver but was unfortunately killed in 1950 racing on the Nurnburgring circuit.
  This beautifully painted set is limited to 100 in number, a B version with 2 generic Luftwaffe officers in tropical gear is also available but limited to 50 sets worldwide.
• LUFT019B -- Luftwaffe Officers playing cards (Tropical Gear)
• LUFT020A -- Rudi Sinner Lighting a Lady's Cigarette - Sinner Man! Rudi Sinner sweeps in for his latest kill whilst offering a light to a pretty young lady with a cigarette, could be occupied France, an airfield or the streets of Berlin. 
• LUFT020B -- Rudi Sinner Lighting a Lady's Cigarette (Tropical Dress) - the tropical version of the above set suitable for warmer climes or if you simply prefer your ladies in pink! Rudi Sinner was born in Austria in 1915 and enlisted into the Austrian artillery in 1936 but transferred into the Luftwaffe in 1940. He served in the Middle East before being posted back to the West where his final score stood at 39 kills in just over 300 missions. Sinner was awarded the Knights Cross and survived the war despite serious injuries inflicted by USAAF Mustangs in April 1945 when they downed his ME 262. Limited to 100 in the A version and 50 of the B version, these figures will look great in a diorama of your choice.

Three new Germans for May from TGM! Nice and simple. Enjoy!

CLUB 20 features Hans Phillip, a Luftwaffe ace and Knights Cross recipient
with over 200 victories mainly on the Eastern Front. Phillip's plane was hit
by a B17 gunner in October 1943, there is also speculation he was hit by a
P47 Thunderbolt flown by Robert Johnson. As Phillip tried to nurse his plane
back to his airfield he was forced to bail out at 50 metres where his
parachute failed to open.
He was buried with full military honours on 14th October 1943.
This figure of Phillip with one of his units mascots, a tame fox, is free to
all Club members who spend $150 or more thru our can be purchased separately
on our website for the normal RRP of $40.

FJ017B The B version of our very popular running FJ but this time with some
snow added to his base so he can now be incorporated in a Russian winter
setting or a BOB dio. Limited to 100 in number and priced at $40 per figure.

GW054 German Ground Crew/Mechanic with toolbox. A great little figure
smoking a pipe that will look suitable in any airfield diorama or maybe next
to our A7 tank carrying out some repairs? Non smoking sign also included
with this set!

• FJ019 -- "The Breakfast Club" #2 - Two more of our popular FJ's in a relaxed mode to add to the first Breakfast Club recently issued. One FJ stands smoking a cigarette with his MG42 propped up in front of him whilst the other adopts a more casual pose resting his foot on an ammo box, note the captured Sten gun as his weapon of choice! A pan of fried egg makes a neat touch to this set. Please note that both these figures have no base and can be used as tank riders if so desired.

The Great War
GW028C Winter Germans as promised to fight our winter British troops made
late last year! Two firing Germans in the standing and kneeling firing
position, take aim at our Winter Tommy's!

GW050A/B Maxim Machine Gunner: A German soldier in greatcoat armed with a
Maxim MG provides covering fire to his advancing comrades. The A version
figure is dressed in normal German army uniform whilst the B version wears a
Stormtrooper helmet and gas mask.

Priced at $43.50/£32.00 inc VAT and limited to 100 in number.
 

GW051A Wilhelm Frankl was the highest scoring WW1 German ace of Jewish
origin. 

He learned to fly prior to WW1 being tutored by Melli Beese,
Germany's first female pilot in 1913. When war was declared Frankl joined
the Luftsreitkrafte and by 1917 he was a 20 kill ace and recipient of The
Blue Max. 

By this time he had converted to Christianity and married the
daughter of an Austrian Naval Captain. On Easter Sunday April 8th 1917
during aerial combat, Frankl's Albatross lost its lower wing  and he along
with his aircraft plunged 800 metres to the ground. 

He was buried with full
military honours in Berlin. During the late 1930's Frankl's name was deleted
from the official list of Blue Max recipients due to his Jewish heritage.
His name was restored after WW2 and in 1973 the Luftwaffe named one of their
barracks after him.

Frankl comes complete with wicker chair and baby baboon, one of the many
mascots utilized by 4 Jasta during their formation.

World War 2
FJ016A: An FJ sentry in greatcoat rubs his hands against the cold. This
winter version will look great in any number of settings including the
Battle of the bulge or on an airfield. A Normandy version is set to follow
soon.

FJ017A: A late war running FJ complete with rifle and vehicle mine advances
into combat, more FJ's in this vein are due to follow shortly. I
particularly like the look on this figures face and the camouflage pattern
on his jacket!

SS045: Ernst Barkmann Knights Cross recipient, was a legendary SS tank
commander with numerous tank kills to his name on both the Eastern and
Western fronts. He fought in just about every major engagement including
Kursk, Normandy and in the Ardennes. Barkmann survived the war and was taken
into captivity by the British, he settled in Kisdorf after his release and
became the fire chief as well as the town Mayor! He died aged 89 in 2009.

Barkmann is posed in a more relaxed stance in leather jacket with hands in
pocket, possibly discussing the liquid lunch Karl Korner has on offer which
is incidentally our Club 19 figure!

We have 2 versions on offer, a 'Summer' A version and a 'Winter' B version.

SOV009A: Another figure to add to our Russian series, this time a standing
rifleman. Suitable for Early WW2 or Russian Civil War. Limited to 100 in
number and priced at $40/£29.50.

A winter version will follow as well as some more British Winter Tommy's
shortly.

Luft 017A/B: Luftwaffe mechanic with oil can and ammo box looks up at the
sky, is he observing American or German planes in the sky above though?!
Comes in an A 'Normandy' version or B Desert version. Limited to 100 in
number for the A version and 50 of the B version and priced at $40/£29.50
per figure.

Club 019 Karl Korner and his liquid lunch! Karl Korner was an SS tank ace
with his kill score running into the hundreds of vehicles. Korner fought
mainly on the Russian front and in one engagement destroyed 39 Russian tanks
with 39 rounds, he then withdrew from the battle with all his ammunition
expended.  

On 29th April Korner was awarded the Knights Cross in the Fuhrer
bunker, the day before Hitler committed suicide. Korner survived the war and
died in 1997 aged 77 years old.

Our model shows Korner is relaxed mode discussing the contents of a
champagne bottle with his fellow comrades.

A big thank to Chris Hunt in HK who asked for more relaxed tankers and so
here they are with more to follow!

First up this month, a handful of new WW1 and WW2 German releases from TGM

World War 1

The first release features a

German soldier GW046 'Standing Ready.' Our A version figure wears a gasmask

and sports a Stormtrooper style helmet, whilst the B version is dressed for

conventional combat ready to advance. Limited to 100 in number and priced at

$40/£29.50 each figure.

World War 2

LUFT015 Major Martin Drewes was a German nightfighter ace who mainly flew

the ME BF110 earlier in the  Desert and then later over Germany. Drewes was

awarded the Knights Cross with Oak Leaves and is credited with 52 kills,

mainly RAF and USAAF heavy bombers.  

He survived the war and emigrated to

Brazil where he married and stayed there until his death in 2013.  As

nightfighting was a dangerous business we have sculpted Drewes with his arm

in sling recovering from a wound, perhaps inflicted by a Lancaster or a B17

gunner, who were equally determined not to be his latest kill! 

Limited to

100 in number for the Defence of the Reich version and 50 in number for the

Desert version. Priced at $40/£29.50

LUFT016 Prinz Wittgenstein another nightfighter ace credited with 83

victories whilst flying the ME 110 and the nightfighter variant of the JU88.

Wittengstein came from an aristocratic family and by 1943 had become

severely disillusioned with Hitler and the Nazi party. 

He confided with his

mother that he planned to kill Hitler, whilst he was being awarded the

Knights Cross. However Wittengstein is known to have a strong sense of duty

and was in competition with Major Lent, another nightfighter ace, to become

the Luftwaffe's top ranking night-time pilot. Perhaps this was his reason

for not attempting to kill Hitler whilst he had the opportunity? I am not

sure whether the Fuehrer's security team would have let an armed pilot in

the same room as Hitler, it's all speculation at the end of the day as to

what might have happened. 

Regardless Wittgenstein is reported to have been

killed in January 1945 by a British Mosquito crew flown by Pilot Officer

Desmond Snape. On the night in question Wittgenstein had already shot down 4

Lancaster's and was attacking a 5th when he himself came under fire.

Wittgenstein ordered his crew to jump, who all survived, however

Wittgenstein was found dead the next day on the ground with a fracture to

the head and his parachute unopened. It is presumed he hit the tail fin of

his Junkers as he attempted to bail out, which would have either killed him

or knocked him unconscious.

Our version of Wittgenstein shows him on crutches perhaps talking with

Martin Drewes as they compare wounds! Limited to 100 in number for Defence

of the Reich series and another 50 in number with this figure dressed in

tropical dress, once again priced at $40/£29.50
